UEC: The Importance of Reading to Young Children
REGISTER NOW

Reading to children aged 5 to 6 plays a vital role in their overall development and lays a strong foundation for future learning. At this age, children are rapidly developing their language, literacy, thinking, and social-emotional skills. Regular reading experiences expose them to new vocabulary, sentence structures, and ideas, helping them become more confident communicators and early readers. Reading together also strengthens parent-child bonding and nurtures a lifelong love for learning.

Join us for this insightful parenting talk conducted by Ms Yeo Hwee Cheng, Senior Specialist (Programme Partnership) from the National Institute of Early Childhood Development (NIEC).

Drawing on her expertise in early childhood education, Ms Yeo will share practical strategies and valuable insights on fostering a love for reading and creating meaningful literacy experiences at home.

🎁 Receive SINDA's Hello Pre-schooler Voucher worth $100 in POPULAR Bookstore vouchers! Eligible parents of preschool children aged 5–6 years who attend the programme will receive vouchers that can be used to purchase books and educational resources. This supports parents in creating a literacy-rich home environment, encouraging regular reading habits and providing children with greater access to quality books that support their learning and development.
